Hello, I'm Anoop

a Software Engineer @AWS

I automate things that probably don't need automating and monitor systems that definitely don't need that many dashboards. I am an engineer at work by day, an obsessed tinkerer and a hobbyist by night. My home lab runs a number of services because apparently "just use the cloud" is not an acceptable answer when you want to understand how things actually work. Everything is containerized, automated, and monitored with a dashboard that would make any developer do a double take. Recently, I started exploring LLM inference fnd I am slowly figuring out that it is its own special flavor of distributed systems chaos. I do also maintain strong positions on: arch linux (not as hard as it's made out to be), systemd (good actually), btrfs (underrated), and the correct way to configure WireGuard (there's only one). This blog is where I document things I'm building, problems I'm solving, and occasionally rant about my own decisions. When I'm not at a terminal, I like clicking street and urban photography with my trusty old Fujifilm XT-4. Fifteen years of practice, I am still mass-deleting 80% of everything. The gallery hosts the other 20%. I hope you find these enjoyable, if not please feel free to reach out to me on my Email/Signal/Mastadon handles. As attention to these will be sparse, do not expect any immediate responses.
